Qualification aim

This qualification has been developed by a further education college with input from teachers in the Further Education, secondary and primary sector to support educators to meet this challenge.  It aims to increase educators’ own knowledge and confidence and to learn from best practice to support their roles.    It is relevant to a variety of educators: teachers, in-class assistants, learning-centre staff, learning support and other support roles in education settings.  (There are no requirements to teach to achieve the certificate).

The qualification is applicable to a wide range of settings involved in promoting sustainability and environmental education including:

•        Further Education

•        University Education

•        Other educational and youth settings.
