Key Purpose

The Assessment Developer is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing assessments, across a range of activities and products, which are fit for purpose in terms of assessment practice, protocols and procedures.

Working closely with the Product Development Manager, the Assessment Developer will work across the business to develop and implement effective assessment arrangements for existing and new products/ qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Key Stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify, design and develop appropriately structured, valid, assessments which enable learners to fully demonstrate the required knowledge, skills and understanding .
  • Ensure ETAs approach to assessment development meets Ofqual General Conditions and other regulatory requirements including IfATE and DfE.
  • Implement effective and consistent arrangements which ensures the centre and learner experience is clear and unambiguous whilst ensuring internal processes are robust and meet demand.
  • Ensure assessments are accessible for the widest range of learners, avoiding unfair disadvantage and barriers to learning.
  • Collect and analyse data to gain insights into performance, effectiveness and efficiency, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure best practice and provide guidance, support and development to the wider team in order to help them achieve their desired outcome.
  • Keep up to date with changes in assessment practice and legislation, including technological advances and sector specific demands and requirements.
